Everyone had a role to play in the Civil Rights Movement. Children were vital in holding a place for change. "They were," as Langston Hughes declared, "the dream the dreamers dreamed of." They were also taught how to make dreams concrete. Organize, organize, organize! Selma 1965, a little African-American boy wanted to see Dr. King. A bespectacled Canadian picked up the boy and put him on his shoulders to give him a vantage point.
